Waste Management Conference & Exhibition 2008

WM 2008, a 2day Conference & Exhibition on Waste Management, is again organised by ENSEARCH. This Conference is endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Housing and Local Government. The Department of National Solid Waste Management and Department of Environment, Malaysia is expected to play a key role in this event in accordance with the Theme.

This 2-day Conference is scheduled for 11 th and 12 th of November 2008 , at Sime Darby Convention Centre, Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur is expected to primarily cover issues concerning Scheduled Waste Management and Solid Waste Management for Industries, Oil and Gas and Plantation sectors . To showcase the Private sectors services and products, an Exhibition has been slotted to add value to the Conference.

The theme of the Conference is “WM2008: Profiting from Green Practices”. The Conference generally aims at presenting an opportunity for both the Regulators and key Industry players an avenue to deliberate and exchange current waste management issues, updates and implications of the new Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Bill 2007 as well as to look at the updates and challenges faced by the Industry in relation to the Scheduled Waste Regulations 2005.

According this major Event the right stature, the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Malaysia and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment are to be invited to officiate the Conference on each of the days. The Director Generals of the Department of Environment and the Department of National Solid Waste Management have agreed in principal to deliver Keynote Addresses for both days respectively. Speakers and Participants are expected from a cross-section of the region and nation.

We are confident that WM2008 will attract 300 or so participants and will be a positive platform to profile oneself.

SCHEDULED WASTES MANAGEMENT
News

Please be informed that ENSEARCH is organising a training on Scheduled Wastes Management on 13 & 14 August 2008 (Wednesday & Thursday) at the ENSEARCH Training Centre.

SCHEDULED WASTES MANAGEMENT

Date : 13 & 14 August 2008 , Wednesday & Thursday
Time : 9am - 5pm
Venue : ENSEARCH Training Centre, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara
Trainer : Peter Ho Yueh Chuen & Ir. Mazura Md. Mazlan

This course has been designed to provide direct practical instruction on implementation of Scheduled Wastes Management (SWM) to people in industry who have responsibility for project development, management, planning and operations , with the desire to comply with environmental legislation and improve on their environmental performance and safety practices.

Participants will be going on a trip to Kualiti Alam's Integrated Scheduled Waste Management Centre in Negeri Sembilan on the second day of training (afternoon session).

News Please be informed that ENSEARCH is organising a training on EIA for Infrastructure Development on 30 July 2008 (Wednesday) at the ENSEARCH Training Centre.

EIA for INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

Date : 30 July 2008 , Wednesday
Time : 9am - 5pm
Venue : ENSEARCH Training Centre, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara
Trainer : Dr. G. Balamurugan

The course of EIA for Infrastructure Development has been designed for environmental professionals in both the public and private sector. The main aim is to enable participants to understand how to undertake and review EIAs . The course will cover the main infrastructure sectors such as roads, transmission lines, sewerage and drainage.
