Ocean Plastic Waste: Why is it relevant for the Food & Beverages Sector?
Ocean plastic waste is a global environmental problem as well as a problem for Malaysia. Malaysia is one of the large producers of ocean plastic waste and also a top export destination of plastic waste. Governments around the world are taking tough action on the management of plastic waste. Business communities and NGOs are also increasing the call for action.
F&B businesses will be affected by such policies and there will be demand from their customers and investors to take concrete action on the management of plastic waste. This could also provide opportunities for F&B business to innovate and create new solutions/models for their business. The Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) approach becomes a useful tool to tackle this global problem.
Hence, ENSEARCH is organising a workshop specifically for those involved in Food & Beverage Industries/Sector. The objectives of this workshop are:
- To understand the importance of ocean plastic waste from environmental, social and business perspectives.
- To explore some of the best practices around the world.
- To improve your problem solving skills through interactive future scenario-based exercise.
